NORTH STRABANE TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Four people were hurt Friday morning when their vehicle crashed into a utility pole, which then fell and brought wires down onto a house in North Strabane Township, emergency dispatchers said.

The accident was reported shortly after 3:30 a.m. on Green Valley Road. Officials told the woman who lives in the home that the driver swerved to avoid hitting a deer.

Two adults and two children in the car were hurt, dispatchers said. The extent of their injuries was not immediately known.

“I was hoping everyone in the car was OK. I called 911. My heart was pounding. I think it took 10 minutes before my heart stopped pounding,” Debbie Gamble, the homeowner, said.
