Coroner called to Westmoreland County crash

GREENSBURG, Pa. — The Westmoreland County Coroner was called to a fatal crash in Youngwood just before 2 p.m. Wednesday.

According to our partners at TribLive.com, the crash happened at Racetrack and Wilson Fox roads near New Stanton. A dispatcher said a vehicle had overturned onto its roof.

Youngwood fire Chief Lloyd Crago told TribLive.com witnesses reported an SUV was driving near the Fox Den Acres Campground when it went off the road and hit a tree. It then slid across the road and hit a van driving the other direction. The coroner said 88-year-old Elizabeth Anderson’s SUV struck and embankment and rolled.

Anderson was pronounced dead at the scene. It’s not clear what caused the crash.
