PITTSBURGH — If you want to travel internationally, you may want to hold off on those plans.

There could be an alternative, however; a Pittsburgh travel company stated new restrictions related to COVID-19 are leading to a boom in business.

The owner of Debolt Unlimited Travel Services, which is a tour company specializing in showing travelers the best Pittsburgh has to offer, told Channel 11 that because people are staying away from international travel, they’re instead booking local trips and tours.

Debolt said that tourists are coming from as far as six hours away.

“They begin to think of where they can go that won’t be a hassle to get to. Pittsburgh fits the bill,” said George Debolt. “So we are finding our tours of Pittsburgh are exploding.”

“We will have over 100 tours of Pittsburgh this month alone, which is more than twice as many than we have ever had before,” Debolt stated.
