PITTSBURGH — U.S. Customs and Border Protection recently confiscated two different shipments of medicated eye patches from Hong Kong that aren’t approved for sale in the United States.
Both shipments were headed to separate addresses in Allegheny County, according to a news release.
None of the packaging contained directions or ingredients in the English-language so the U.S. Food and Drug Administration determined that the products violated the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act as “adulterated or misbranded medical products.”
The eye patches are valued at more than $10,000.
