One person dead following crash in Westmoreland County

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, Pa. — The Westmoreland County Coroner's Office released more details following a tragic crash in Washington Township Saturday morning.

Officials said the person who died was Haley Montgomery, 28, from Brackenridge Borough. Authorities said she was traveling north on State Route 66 when she attempted to make a left turn on State Route 366.

Officials said Montgomery was hit in a T-bone type collision by a 2012 Nissan Xterra traveling south on State Route 66.

The Coroner's Office said Montgomery was not wearing a seat belt when she was hit and she was pronounced dead at the scene..

Our partners at TribLive.com reported Washington Township police and fire units responded to the fatal accident at Route 66 and Greensburg Road, according to Westmoreland 911 dispatch.

The accident involving the SUV and a car was reported at 7:40 a.m.
