PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh police are investigating after a delivery driver was robbed early Monday morning.
Officers responded to the 100 block of Market Street around 12:45 a.m. after the driver from Genoa Pizza and Bar was robbed. The robbery happened in the 2800 block of Plough Street in Pittsburgh’s Marshall-Shadeland neighborhood.
Police said the order came in around 11:59 p.m. During the delivery, a man pulled a black pistol on the driver and demanded that he get out of the his vehicle while two other men were approaching the vehicle from behind.
The suspects then used the gun to hit the delivery driver, police said. They got away with the driver’s personal belongings and food.
No arrests have been made and police are still investigating.
Because of the robbery, Genoa said it plans on making changes to how they operate, including not delivering to certain neighborhoods after a certain time and asking new late night delivery customers to put down a credit card when they order.
