Police officer accused of holding 2 men captive in his home

PENN HILLS, Pa. — A North Braddock police officer is facing charges, accused of handcuffing two people inside his home.

The two victims were insurance salesmen the suspect, Sharon Jackson, found online.

According to investigators, Jackson was talking to the two men inside his Penn Hills home when he became suspicious that they were running a scam.

He then allegedly handcuffed them before calling 911.

Penn Hills police investigated more, and said they learned the men worked for American Income Life Insurance Co. and weren't part of a scam.

Jackson is charged with false imprisonment, simple assault and official oppression.

We're told Jackson has a defense attorney and that this was a misunderstanding.
