Person pulled from smoky apartment fire in Allegheny County

WHITEHALL, Pa. — A person was pulled from a smoky apartment fire after a cooking accident in Allegheny County.

The fire broke out at an apartment building on Skyline Drive in Whitehall around 10:20 p.m. Friday.

Four apartment units sustained smoke and water damage, according to police.

That person was transported to the hospital for smoke inhalation and is expected to be OK.

At this time the extent of injuries is unknown and there is no word as to what started the fire.
