Firefighter hurt as blaze damages homes in Mount Oliver

PITTSBURGH — A firefighter was taken to a hospital after he was hurt while battling flames early Tuesday morning in Pittsburgh’s Mount Oliver neighborhood, police said.

Intense flames damaged two homes on Penn Avenue after the blaze started about 12:30 a.m.

Officials said the firefighter who was hurt is doing well. He was last listed in stable condition at the hospital.
