Former chief of Indiana County golf course admits to stealing $350,000

Rocco Panucci

A Greensburg man pleaded guilty Wednesday to stealing more than $350,000 from an Indiana County golf course.

Rocco Panucci, 53, the former CEO of the Chestnut Ridge Golf Resort & Conference Center in Blairsville, said he used the money to pay for his children’s college tuition, among other things.

The course hired Panucci in 2007 at a salary of $100,000, according to authorities.

He took out an American Express card in the course's name, but directed that the card and bills be sent to his home, authorities said. He then gave the course bookkeeper handwritten lists of what appeared to be legitimate expenses to cover for his purchases.
