WASHINGTON — Former Pennsylvania governor Tom Ridge is improving after being hospitalized for a stroke last week.
Ridge has been upgraded from critical to stable condition, his family said on Twitter.
He successfully underwent surgery to remove a blood clot, according to the family.
In 2017, Ridge was rushed to the hospital in critical condition after suffering heart issues suddenly during a conference.
Ridge was transferred by ambulance to a hospital in the Washington, D.C. area June 16 after having suffered a stroke at his home in Bethesda, Maryland.
