Former youth minister accused in assault of teenage girl he was mentoring

A former youth minister is accused of assaulting the teenage girl he was mentoring.

Investigators in Allegheny County said Nicholas Lies, 21, worked at Southminster Church in Mount Lebanon.

They said he was in his car with a 13-year-old girl last year and touched her inappropriately.

The teen's mother called police to report what happened.

Lies is charged with statutory sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault, indecent assault and endangering the welfare of children.

Police said the abuse happened from April to August 2016.
