BEAVER FALLS, Pa. — It’s a way to keep your personal, financial information from getting into the wrong hands.
Rep. Jim Marshall will host an annual shredding event Saturday, April 29 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Residents can drop off sensitive documents in the parking lot of Marshall's district office in the Chippewa Township Municipal Building.
“Shredder events like these help people securely dispose of old paperwork and documents that aren’t needed anymore,” Marshall said.
There are some things you need to know before you go:
- No large binder clips or hardbound covers will be accepted.
- Materials more than 1 inch thick will need to be broken down before being put through the machine. Staff will be available to assist.
- Materials can be brought to the event in boxes, bags or plastic tubs; however, only paper and cardboard will be handled by the shredding company.
- There is a limit of four boxes, or the equivalent, per vehicle.
There will be another shredding event later this year, on Sept. 9 at the Zelienople Airport.
