Fugitive holds toddler as deputies attempt to arrest him

Duquawn Crosby

A man wanted for violating his probation was holding a toddler when deputies broke into a Hill District apartment looking for him on Monday morning.

Allegheny County deputies ordered Daquawn Crosby, 21, of North Oakland to put his girlfriend’s child down and arrested him.

Crosby has been wanted since September for violating a 2015 arrest in which he allegedly was found in possession of a stolen handgun and more than 200 stamp bags of heroin, the county sheriff's department said. Because of a prior drug conviction, Crosby was not allowed to have a gun.

In 2016, he was charged with assaulting his girlfriend, the violation of the 2015 arrest.
