Gov. Tom Wolf unveils key innovation proposal at CMU development site

PITTSBURGH — Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf wants to reignite innovation across the state, and Hazelwood Green is setting that example by creating manufacturing jobs for the future.

Hazelwood Greens is now the home of Carnegie Mellon University’s Manufacturing Future Initiative, its Advanced Robotics for Manufacturing Institute and the self-driving car company “Aptiv.”

The governor’s $12.35 million plan includes funding for industrial resource centers, technology development and academic programs with businesses start-up training.

Wolf visited the development along the Monongahela River Friday to unveil his proposal to promote more innovation in the state.
