It pays to be a Pittsburgher as region’s No. 1 for blue-collar wages

PITTSBURGH — Amid all the hailing of Pittsburgh for meds and eds, robotics and AI, the city still stays true to its blue-collar roots.

In fact, Pittsburgh is at the top of the list of large metros with the most successful blue color workers, according to a recently released study by the Inspection Support Network.

The median wage for blue-collar workers in Pittsburgh is $48,701, adjusted for the cost of living, No. 1 in the U.S.
