'We are fighting with everything we have' Sandusky's attorney says legal battle is just beginning

BUTLER, Pa. — The attorney for former Penn State assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky spoke out Wednesday after the courts ordered a re-sentencing hearing for the convicted child sex offender.

Attorney Al Lindsay didn’t mince words when he said he stands behind his client.

Sandusky is currently behind bars serving up to a 60-year sentence and has remained quiet.

Lindsay said he’s feeling optimistic and hopes the courts will now reduce Sandusky’s sentence.

In addition, Tuesday, the higher courts denied a new trial for Sandusky.

Lindsay, though, said this isn’t the end.

He says Sandusky was certainly disappointed, but they’re even more motivated in seeking justice.

Sandusky has maintained his innocence despite several victims testifying in court about alleged abuse and threats.
