J.C. Penney started liquidation sales at 136 stores that are closing, including in our area, after the company filed for bankruptcy last month, according to a news release.
Locations at Monroeville Mall, the Galleria at Pittsburgh Mills, Beaver Valley Mall and Clearview Mall are among the list of stores.

There will be storewide discounts of 25-40% off original prices, according to a release. ll merchandise is on sale, including deeper discounts of 40% on all fine jewelry and window treatments. New seasonal essentials, such as swimwear and sunglasses, are also discounted at 25-30% off. All sales will be final starting June 25.
Temporarily reduced store hours will continue to be Monday through Saturday, noon to 7 p.m., and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
