NORTH HILLS, Pa. — The way they do things might be different, but the goal is the same: to help people.
North Hills Community Outreach stepped it up at the start of the pandemic and hasn’t stopped. Now, they’re looking for help putting Thanksgiving on every table.
The organization runs three food pantries that serve families all year.
They’re now gearing up for their annual food drive for Thanksgiving.

They’ve been doing it for about 20 years and said they’re ready for an increase in demand.
“We don’t know what the future’s going to hold,” the North Hills community outreach communications director said. “Everyone’s talking about this thing is going to get worse in the wintertime, so I wouldn’t be surprised. Unfortunately, we do hear from more people who are going to need our services. We’re ready to meet the need particularly because the community has been so great donating food and helping us out.”
Just how much of an increase in demand for food are they expecting? Channel 11′s Alyssa Raymond will show you the need plus what’s most surprising about it for Channel 11 News beginning at 5 p.m. on TV and in our streaming apps.
