WASHINGTON, Pa. — After last week’s severe storms, a Washington Park pool was flooded with mud and debris.

The pool had to be drained, the mud sucked out and the entire inside power washed.

Workers said they had never seen anything like it.

“We had the tornado warnings, it started to get pretty ugly. We made the decision to shut down the pool,” said Chriss Marshman, Washington parks director.

A hill on the side of the pool quickly turned into a mountain of mud and slid directly into the pool. The mud first filled up the baby pool and then the main pool.

Marshman said in all his years on the job, he’s never seen anything like it.
