Man arrested after shot fired at home with 3 children, SWAT called

PITTSBURGH — Police arrested a man accused of opening fire on a woman and her three children at a home Thursday night in Uptown Pittsburgh, leading to a SWAT situation, police said.

Investigators said the standoff on Tustin Street was prompted by a domestic issue between a woman and her boyfriend, Taquan Gurley, who fired the shot. The woman ran out of the house with her three children.

The SWAT team was called about 10:30 p.m., but Gurley was not found inside the home after several hours. Crews left the scene about 1 a.m.

No one was injured.

Just before 3 a.m., police returned to Tustin Street and found Gurley inside arguing with the victim. Police took Gurley into custody.

He is facing several charges, including four counts of recklessly endangering another person, four counts of aggravated assault, discharging a firearm, and strangulation.
