Man arrested for drugs and gun possession in Indiana County

CENTER TWP., Pa. — A wanted Homer City man was arrested on Tuesday after police said he was found in possession of drugs and a loaded pistol after Pennsylvania State Police troopers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in Center Township, Indiana County.

Brian Scott Davenport, 31, was charged with felony and misdemeanor drug and gun charges after the incident at a business in the 8900 block of Route 286 Highway West around 7:45 a.m.

Troopers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot, with a man and woman sleeping inside. The driver was identified as Davenport, who was found to be wanted by the Blairsville Police Department for fleeing or attempting to elude police officers and three summary violations for an incident that occurred on Oct. 14.

Davenport was found to be in possession of a small plastic baggie containing suspected crystal methamphetamine and approximately $2,409 in cash. He was then taken into custody.

The female occupant was identified and released pending further investigation.

A search of the vehicle found suspected opioids and methamphetamine, pills, a bulk amount of cash, four cell phones, and a brown and silver SCCY 9mm pistol with a magazine containing six rounds. Also seized from the vehicle were various items of drug paraphernalia including a scale, magnetic containers, a straw with residue, a glass smoking device, syringes and a bulk number of unused stamp bags and plastic baggies.

Davenport was arraigned and held in the Indiana County Jail on $100,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Nov. 9.
