Man pleads guilty in deadly 2019 Penn Hills hit-and-run

PENN HILLS, Pa. — A man pleaded guilty on Monday to a deadly 2019 hit-and-run in Penn Hills.

Police said Surron Burch hit Joe Morris in April 2019 along Hershey Road in Penn Hills. Burch never stopped the car, and investigators found him weeks later, according to police.

Burch pleaded guilty to charges of accidents involving death or personal injury, accidents involving death or personal injury while not properly licensed, homicide by vehicle and involuntary manslaughter.

Burch will be sentenced on June 6, where he will face a mandatory three-year prison term.
