JEANNETTE, Pa. — On Thursday morning, police tape surrounded a Jeannette intersection as investigators searched for evidence tied to a deadly shooting.

Just after 2:30 a.m. a body was found with gunshot wounds.

“It was 2:38, 2:40 because I looked at my phone when I heard the shots, I heard 4 shots... One bang, and then 3 quick ones… Bang, Bang, Bang,” said Tim Long, Jeannette resident.

“She came over and looked at him in the street for a little while and then she went down and felt for a pulse and then she shook her head at me and went back up on the porch calling 911,” said Long.

Tim Long woke up to the startling sound of gunshots. He and his neighbor saw a man lying lifeless in the street in front of his house.

Investigators tell Channel 11, the 43-year-old Jeannette man had multiple gunshot wounds, and despite officers attempting CPR, he couldn’t be saved.

Now detectives are working to figure out exactly what happened and why.

“So they started searching all the yards, checking on neighbors, I don’t have cameras yet but I’m gonna put them in,” said Long.

Tim says he’s lived in Jeannette for more than a decade and says the issues plaguing this neighborhood aren’t going away.

“It’s sad another person lost their life but it’s all over this town. The town is dying a slow death,” said Long.

Despite last night’s violence approaching his front door, Tim says it’s not scaring him out of his home... yet.

“I was wounded twice in the war; I don’t fear anything. I already died. I’m not even here, this doesn’t mean I’m crazy, I just want to live in peace,” said Long. As of Thursday evening, no suspects have been identified.
