The shooting was reported shortly after 12:30 a.m. at Rowdy Buck on East Carson Street. Someone alerted an officer working a secondary detail at another area bar to the shooting and additional officers were dispatched.
Police found 25-year-old Dahrique Smith, who appeared to have been shot multiple times, on the sidewalk after he made it outside of the bar. An officer began to render first aid and paramedics were called.

Smith, of West Mifflin, was taken to UPMC Mercy Hospital, where he died shortly after 1 a.m.
Police said they do not have any suspects and are still trying to piece together what led to the shooting.
East Carson business owners like Michael Flores are growing frustrated with crime coming so close to the popular South Side entertainment district. Many now wonder if more needs to be done.
"Just overall discontent in the South Side," Flores said. "A lot of businesses are feeling it."
Smith’s cousin, who did not want to be identified, said Smith frequented the South Side, but was not one to get into trouble.
“He was humble, cool, he would help anybody,” the cousin said. “(He) wasn't on the street and didn't like to fight.”
Smith was about to become a father, according to his cousin.
"I just seen him the other day and he told me he was having a baby," he said.
The Pittsburgh Bureau of Police Violent Crime Unit is investigating. Detectives were back at the bar on Monday, and it appeared several people were meeting inside. The owner declined comment to Channel 11.
Anyone with information is asked to call police.
