BALDWIN, Pa. — A man found dead Sunday night in his home in Baldwin was using a messaging app before his death, police said.

Jeremy Dentel, 28, was found dead just after 11 p.m. at his home on Vernon Avenue.

Allegheny County police homicide detectives were called once Dentel’s death was determined to be suspicious.

Police said Dentel was shot once.

Dentel was last seen about 8 p.m. Friday, but investigators determined he had used a messaging app until about 6 p.m. Saturday. They also learned there was a heavyset white man in the area.

“No trouble, Nothing. He was always a good kid, great family, always together. It’s hard," said Dentel’s friend and neighbor Raymond Pogany.

Channel 11 found out Allegheny County police took Pogany’s home security camera footage and are going through it for clues.
