PITTSBURGH — More schools will close and merge in the Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh, but the reason may be surprising.
The Diocese is saying two elementary schools are closing and two others are merging because of financial challenges due to COVID-19.

Saint Patrick School in Canonsburg and Our Lady of the Most Blessed Sacrament in Natrona Heights will close. Saint Joseph in Verona and Saint John the Baptist in Plum are merging.
The changes go into effect in the next few weeks.
