Mt. Lebanon police searching for man who left suspicious package outside representative’s office

MT. LEBANON, Pa. — Mt. Lebanon police and the bomb squad were investigating a suspicious package left outside of a state representative’s office.

The package was found outside 650 Washington Road at approximately 5:10 p.m. on Wednesday.

Investigating officers received reports of a man acting strangely in front of the building. He was observed placing a bag near the entrance to the ground level, but when asked about it, he denied placing it. He also warned others in the area to be careful of it, according to police.

Out of caution, police evacuated the building and nearby businesses and diverted traffic.

Police are asking for any information about the incident or the man by calling 911. He is said to be in his 60′s, wearing a flannel shirt, blue jeans, a winter hat and carrying a light blue backpack.
