Police said a total of six shots were fired, and one of them went straight through Cubbage's ankle.

She said she remembers her loved ones shielding her and offering help.

Doctors used screws to put her foot back together.

"It started hurting really bad, started burning," Cubbage said.

Police said three teens opened fire outside of her home.

She believes her nephew was the intended target because he had exchanged words with one of the suspects earlier in the day and had planned to fight him.

After she was shot, she said, the teens didn't appear to show any remorse.

"Them kids are nothing but punks, that's all they are," Cubbage said. "They need to grow up and quit acting like that."

Aliquippa police said they're reviewing surveillance footage and following up on leads.

Coincidentally, Cubbage's daughter was shot in the same area of her foot back in 2009.
