New bank coming to Pittsburgh, hires senior VP from F.N.B. as market president

PITTSBURGH — A Philadelphia-area bank plans to expand into western Pennsylvania and has hired a veteran banker from F.N.B. to lead the charge.

Univest Financial Corp., parent company of Univest Bank and Trust Co., revealed its intentions in its first-quarter earnings release.

Based in Souderton, a borough in Montgomery County, Univest (NASDAQ:UVSP) has approximately $7.1 billion in assets and operates about 50 branches.

Chris Trombetta has been appointed market president of the western Pennsylvania region. He had been senior vice president, commercial lending/business banking team leader at F.N.B Corp. for the past 10 years. He joined F.N.B.(NYSE:FNB) after its acquisition of Monroeville-based Parkvale Bank where he had been manager of commercial lending and had worked for a decade. Prior to that, he had been an assistance vice president at PNC Bank.
