NEW CASTLE, Pa. — A New Castle man was charged with homicide in a shooting death of another man a day after also being accused of robbing a local pharmacy.
Jordan Perretti, 37, is being charged with homicide and gun charges after the shooting in an alleyway off Marshall Avenue on Feb. 6. He was also charged with robbery and drug possession in the Feb. 5 robbery of a CVS pharmacy located at 734 E. Washington St.
New Castle Police said the victim in the shooting incident was 39-year-old Jason Miles. Police said Perretti met Miles at the location and a confrontation ensued, resulting in Miles being shot several times.
Police said Perretti was initially developed as a suspect in CVS robbery and he was arrested for that incident. During the robbery, police said a man wearing a mask and gauze over his eye walked into the pharmacy with a handgun and demanded narcotics from the pharmacy. The man then ran off after after stealing Xanax pills.
Officers later pulled Perretti over on Feb. 11, and a search of the vehicle revealed numerous bags containing Xanax of various potencies and a 9mm handgun, police said.
Search warrants were also executed on Peretti’s girlfriend’s home and vehicle, where additional evidence was obtained, leading to the homicide charges.
Perretti is being held in the Lawrence County Jail without bond.
