New Castle Police pass out summer treats to 400 kids

NEW CASTLE, Pa. — The New Castle Police Department (NCPD) passed out some cool treats to nearly 400 kids in the city of New Castle on Wednesday.

Officers traveled with KIM’s Ice Cream Truck throughout the city.

The event gave kids the opportunity to meet and spend time with the officers.

The goal of events such as this is to help the NCPD build strong positive relationships with kids in the area.

These events are sponsored by the New Castle Police Department Police Leading Active Youth (NCPD PLAY) program and organized by the NCPD Community Affairs Officer.

Officers were not able to be on every street, but they are planning on coming out again and traveling other streets.
