MOUNT OLIVER, Pa. — Mount Oliver residents and community leaders are working to beautify the neighborhood and ensure homes and buildings are up to code.

Starting Wednesday night, a new property stabilization committee will meet monthly to discuss the efforts to create a safer and more welcoming neighborhood.

As part of the new endeavor, a code enforcement officer will work with property owners to solve problems -- helping them comply with regulations as well as trying to determine why compliance is an issue.
