With Pennsylvania’s stay-at-home order still in place during the COVID-19 pandemic, waste management services are seeing an increase in trash being picked up.

Officials said there has been a 30% increase in curbside pickups due to the number of people staying at home.

Yard waste, such as the collection of grass clippings and tree limbs, has been suspended for some areas. There are also no more bulk pick-ups of furniture, mattresses and other large items.

Because of that, some changes are happening. And it could affect your neighborhood. Waste Management announced new rules for homeowners.

Finally, all trash and recycling must be in bins in spots.

These changes are in effect until further notice, officials said.

Waste Management will continue pickup up yard waste in McCandless, however.
