New water line installed at Butler County school amid lead concerns

Nearly a year after officials confirmed lead in a school’s water supply, workers have made progress at Summit Township Elementary School in Butler County.

The school has been vacant and the water fountains covered since Channel 11 exposed high lead levels in the students’ drinking water coming from the local well.

After months of testing for lead, copper and E. coli, water crews hooked up a new public water line Friday.
