ALLEGHENY COUNTY, Pa. — An Allegheny County woman doesn’t want you to send flowers to her funeral. She simply asks that people “keep rooting for the Steelers.”

The obituary was posted online by Cieslak & Tatko Funeral Home and Cremation Services for Helen T. (Tkicsuck) Fanzo. Fanzo died over the weekend at the age of 97.

The Brentwood and Baldwin’s obituary reads like many others, talking about how Fanzo was born in Pittsburgh in 1922, married the absolute love of her life, Sam, and mentions the loving family members she leaves behind.

Fanzo’s obituary also reads in part, “Special thanks to the many friends that helped this old lady live a full life by doing many chores, and cooking meals to help me along my way.” It then goes on to say that services are private and “Please no flowers, you have all done enough. Please just keep rooting for the Steelers.”

We’ll keep waving our Terrible Towels here at Channel 11 for you Helen.
