HANOVER TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A Pennsylvania grocery store had to throw away over $35,000 worth of food after a woman intentionally coughed on fresh produce, meat, bakery and other goods.

It happened Wednesday afternoon at Gerrity’s Supermarket in Hanover Township, according the company’s Facebook post.

Even though store managers at believe the woman was doing it as a twisted prank, they didn’t want to take any chances and had to get rid of the food.

Employees quickly got the woman out of the store and called police. The District Attorney’s office told the store’s owners they will be filing several charges. They’re also working to make sure the woman is tested for COVID-19.
