NEW CASTLE, Pa. — People living at Skyview Towers in New Castle claim out of the 12-story, 114-unit building, only the lobby has air conditioning, and it’s been that way for days.
“At night, what are you going to do? You have to lay there and sweat like a pig,” said Rose Hall. “I can’t go without air. That’s not fair to anyone who lives here.”
Hall said she and a handful of others have called the property manager for the Lawrence County Housing Authority apartment building - to no avail.
“I just keep on saying, ‘Lord, please let everything get fixed in this building because it’s ridiculous. There is no reason,’” she said.
The county’s website says the building is meant for those 50 and older or the disabled. Hot and fed up, residents have a message for management.
“Just do your job. It’s not fair to us people here. This is not what I expected to live like,” said Holly Mason.
Channel 11 has reached out to the property manager but has not yet received a response.
