PITTSBURGH — Curbing air pollution is a big concern for a lot of people.
That's why the Allegheny County Health Department is working to clean things up and now they're getting support from the Allegheny County Council.
The council officially supported the health department's efforts to curb air pollution by U.S. Steel plants.
Concerns about air quality intensified after two fires at the Clairton Coke Works plant.

In June, a deal was reached requiring U.S. Steel to pay a $2.7 million fine. It also forced them to upgrade equipment to reduce future emissions.
This week's vote by the council requires no new action by U.S. Steel.
