PITTSBURGH — City of Pittsburgh officials have a busy weekend ahead of them. The Pirates play at PNC Park Saturday afternoon and then hours later, in-state rivals Pitt and Penn State go head-to-head at Heinz Field.

And another un-invited guest is coming to town: Tropical Storm Gordon, or at least what's left of him.

The city plans to bring more people in for the weekend in order to ensure there's a crew at each public works division around the clock.

Mike Gable, the director of the Public Works Department, held a media briefing on Friday to lay out the city's plans to tackle all the rain that we're expecting.

"We're prepared. We're going to ride it out and see what it throws at us," Gable said.

They're also preemptively cleaning out catch basins, so they can handle additional water.
