PITTSBURGH — We may be in the middle of winter, but here's a sure sign of spring: The Pittsburgh Pirates are headed south.

The Pirates loaded up their equipment truck Tuesday morning for the team's annual move to Pirate City, the Buccos' spring training complex in Bradenton, Florida.

Pirates’ pitchers and catchers are scheduled to have their first official workout next week, with the full squad set to work out on Feb. 19.
