PITTSBURGH — There are 90 neighborhoods in the City of Pittsburgh. How many have you been to?

Pittsburgh Police Chief Scott Schubert has been to all 90 of them.

“Even though I completed 90 communities, I’m not done. I’m just going to keep doing it. That’s how much it means to me and our organization,” Pittsburgh Police Chief Scott Schubert said.

In the Fall, Chief Schubert made a decision and a commitment.

And on the first day of spring, he fulfilled that commitment.

He spent about three hours in each neighborhood, and racked up about 600 miles.

Chief Schubert says it’s all about community policing and building relationships.

“It was something that meant a lot to me. You know as police we’re apart of the community and the community is apart of us so just being out being available, learning from people gives you a whole new perspective on the community,” Chief Schubert said.

Not only did he talk to countless people about their concerns, he also documented his journey.
