Pittsburgh police chief gets doused with water to raise money for Special Olympics

PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh Police Chief Scott Schubert got doused with water as part of the PA Polar Pop to raise money for Special Olympics.

Schubert first had a balloon popped over his head followed by a shower from the ladder truck at Firehouse #4 in the city’s Uptown neighborhood.

The PA Polar Pop is a virtual fundraiser in which plungers are asked to pop a cold water balloon over their head after making a donation to the organization.

As of the video, Schubert said over $660,000 had been raised. The final date to donate is Friday, Feb. 26.
