PITTSBURGH — A Pittsburgh school police officer was hurt while breaking up a fight outside of Brashear High School on Wednesday.

Target 11 has just confirmed the story and obtained video of the melee that happened as school was letting out.

The video shows a staff member in the middle of a physical altercation with three students. A male school police officer jumps into the fray and pulls one student away. A female officer also moves in quickly and separates the students. That officer is pulled to the ground as the students continue punching and kicking. The officer is hit in the head at least three times as two other students join in and begin hitting her with their fists.

A school district spokesperson tells Target 11 that the officer went to Concentra Urgent Care, where she was treated and later released for her injuries.

The officers eventually manage to break up the fight.

The spokesperson said the incident is under investigation and the students involved will receive discipline based on the student code of conduct.
