Pitcairn — A 20-year-old man is dead following a shooting in Pitcairn.

Channel 11 spoke to a handful of people on- and off-camera who were shaken up.

“I just moved here from Turtle Creek,” Carol Barrack said. “I moved over here hoping it would be a little safer and I have been here not even a month, now this is right around the corner.”

Barrack found herself walking from her house, past broken glass, blood and evidence markers on Center Avenue.

“I just thank God it was none of my kids, they live here too,” Barrack said.

According to Pitcairn Police, around 1:30 p.m. on Friday, officers responded to a shots fired call coming from the 100 block of Center Avenue. When they arrived, they found a red car with its passenger side window and back window blown out.

Inside they found Kaliq A. Dade, 20, of McKeesport, with a gunshot wound. He died on the way to the hospital.

Channel 11 spoke to a witness off camera. She told us a man was getting into an Uber when someone came up and shot the victim in the head and neck.

“I’ve been through a lot and someone lost their life. So their family is going through something worse than I am,” Barrack explained. “My prayers are with that family.”

Several businesses in the area had cameras that could have caught the incident on video. However when we reached out to the businesses, no one answered.

County police haven’t shared the victim’s name or any suspect information, but they are asking anyone with information concerning this incident to call them.
