NORTH HUNTINGDON, Pa. — The Norwin School District is urging parents to call police if their daughters were contacted about sending nude pictures in exchange for money on Snapchat, according to Channel 11's news exchange partners at TribLIVE.

Maggie Edwards, a student at Norwin High School, said a morning announcement made everyone feel uneasy.

"There was an announcement that someone from North Huntingdon was targeting girls through Snapchat," Edwards said.

Norwin Superintendent Jeff Taylor said in a statement that North Huntingdon police alerted school officials to the "safety concern involving sexting," TribLIVE reported.
