The man Dormont police said is responsible for two robberies is behind bars.
Police arrested the man Wednesday night a few hours after investigators said he tried to rob a Dormont restaurant. They did not identify the suspect.
After 4 p.m., the man walked in to the Eat ‘n Park on West Liberty Avenue, gestured as if he had a gun and demanded money, police said. No one saw a gun, and employees refused to give him money, so he fled.

Police said the same man robbed a Payless Shoe Source several blocks away on Tuesday. He was given an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing.
Channel 11 has learned the suspect admitted to both robberies.
He was taken to the Allegheny County Jail.
