PITTSBURGH — Police are searching for the person who murdered a 14-year-old, shooting the Braddock teen once in the head and leaving him on the side of road.

Augustus Gray, a a Woodland Hills student, was killed in Pittsburgh's Lincoln-Lemington neighborhood early Saturday morning.

Local leaders are also reacting to the fact that two other children were also shot on Saturday.

"Your heart breaks when you see anybody succumb to gun violence, let alone somebody 13- 14-years-old, it was particularly distressing," said Braddock Mayor John Fetterman. "It's unacceptable and something has to get done with respect to this gun violence."

A few hours before Gray's murder, Pittsburgh police responded to another shooting in the Hill District where a 10-year-old girl and her 3-year-old sister were hit by bullets that were fired at a house in Skyline Terrace, prompting Pittsburgh police Chief Scott Schubert to tweet out: " 3 children shot in 2 separate incidents today. Unacceptable!"

"If we as a society become desensitized to the fact that a 13 or 14 year old will get shot in the head and left for dead in the middle of the street, then we have to take a long hard look at ourselves," Fetterman added.

Both shootings are still under investigation.

No arrests have been made and no suspects have been named.
