Police seek car that hit child outside Carnegie Library in Sheraden

PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh police are looking for a car that hit an 8-year-old girl outside the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh in Sheraden.

The girl was struck Feb. 10 along Sherwood Avenue. Police said she was standing in the street when the red car drove past and knocked her to the ground.

The driver initially stopped, got out of the car and then picked up the girl and carried her to the side of the road, police said. The driver then got back into the car and drove away.

Police said the girl suffered a head injury and has since recovered.
