Police seek person of interest in Penn Hills homicide

PENN HILLS, Pa. — Police are asking for the public’s help for leads in an unsolved homicide from earlier this year.

Investigators said Jerry Alston, 39, was found shot to death inside his Penn Hills home on Oct. 19.  The Allegheny County medical examiner ruled his death a homicide.

The pictures were captured inside a local McDonald's restaurant and it also shows the man driving a light-colored SUV.

Investigators released surveillance pictures of a person of interest with hopes someone will recognize him.

Anyone with information about this case or the whereabouts of the person in the photos is asked to contact Pittsburgh Crime Stoppers at 412-255-TIPS.

An award of up to $1,000 is offered for information in the case.
